The United States FootGolf Federation has successfully held four editions of its US FootGolf Open at stunning, iconic courses, with the North American Major, FIFGs US FootGolf Open, taking place at Walt Disney World Golf Resort next year. American FootGolf Federation and Walt Disney World Golf were integral to preparing every component for a winning bid. The early iteration of One Another in the United States was the American FootGolf League (AFGL), with the courses that hosted FootGolf matches connected with the league.
Competitive FootGolf was formally launched as FootGolf in 2009, with the first official tournament being held at a golf course (Nederlandse Kampioenschap FootGolf). FootGolf (a mixture of football and golf) was created in the Netherlands in 2008, based on the post-practice game played by English football club Tottenham Hotspur, in which players finish their practice sessions by knocking footballs off a training field into the changing rooms with the lowest number of knocks possible. In recent years, the newly-popular FootGolf sport has grown in popularity, and resort guests can kick soccer balls around in FootGolf at the Oak Trail Golf Course at Disney during late afternoons on selected days.
Disneys Oak Trail Golf Course is proud to offer FootGolf, a sport that blends the patient precision of golf with the athletic coordination of soccer. For the less-skilled golfers still learning the game, or families with small children, we recommend Disneys Oak Trail Golf Course, which is designed as a nine-hole walking course. Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf are located next to Hollywood Studios (there are two courses – Fantasia Gardens is better suited to younger families, while Fairways is slightly more complicated, with some holes having distances just over 100 feet).
Winter Summerland Miniature Golf also has two courses – one is Summer-themed, while the other is Winter-themed; Winter Summerland is located near Blizzard Beach. Disney Vacation Club members can enjoy an affordable membership that comes with a variety of amenities, including four free rounds at Disneys Oak Trail Golf Course, four free rounds at Twilight Golf, eight free rounds at FootGolf, free drive-through baskets, a buddy pass to Golf Clinics, and passes for discounted guests rates. Private lessons from PGA professionals, including video analytics, are available at any of the four Walt Disney World golf courses.
FootGolfs most prestigious tournament, the 2023 World Cup, will be held in the final week of May and the first week of June in 2023. Then, in 2023, FIFGs fourth FootGolf World Cup takes place, pitting 1,000 players against each other over the course of ten days, both individual events and team events for their respective countries. FootGolf has come a long way over the past decade, from the Roberto and Laura Balestrini barnstorming out of the trunk of a car to being recognised and legitimised as a worldwide sport, with excellent golf facilities hosting individuals of all ages and types, throwing footballs around the fairway.
